Interactive installation
Concept
'Flooow' is a real-time interactive installation that delves into the concept of time's flow and the futile attempts to slow, halt, or reverse it. This immersive experience distorts time, morphs the present moment, and transforms one's usual self-perception through interaction. Supported by real-time generative soundscapes, participants are enveloped in a flow state, catapulting them into a new dimension where time and self stretch, altering self-awareness and recycling one's self-image into a renewed state of consciousness.
The installation operates through a simple yet profound mechanism: individuals move in front of a camera, and their image is altered using slit-scan technology, then displayed onscreen. The accompanying audio patch dynamically interacts with this generative video, enhancing the experience. A control allows participants to adjust the stretch of the captured moment, offering a tangible influence over their perceived time and image.
Moreover, the installation includes a feature that lets users immortalize their transformed state by printing the current frame at the press of a button, facilitating a deep connection with this new self-image. Through 'Flooow,' participants explore the elasticity of time and identity, experiencing firsthand the fluidity and impermanence of both.
